24 Teams Set for Inaugural Esports Nations Cup

The Esports Nations Cup is ready to kick off with 24 national teams confirmed for the first edition of the competition. Scheduled to be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from November 10-15, the tournament features a substantial prize pool of $1,320,000.

After a thrilling series of regional qualifiers, countries from across the globe secured their spots for this prestigious event. Leading the United Kingdom to qualification were Owen "smooya" Butterfield and Oscar "AZUWU" Bell, who excelled in the West Europe qualifier. Germany also made their mark, with players from BIG and M80, including Johannes "tabseN" Wodarz, Fritz "slaxz-" Dietrich, and Elias "s1n" Stein, achieving a successful qualification.

In Eastern Europe, Laurențiu "lauNX" Țârlea helped Romania qualify, while Justinas "jL" Lekavicius played a pivotal role in Lithuania's journey to securing their spot in Riyadh.

Other notable qualifiers included Chile, led by David "dav1deuS" Tapia Maldonado and Matias "HUASOPEEK" Ibañez Hernandez. The Turkish team, backed by Sezgin "Fabre" Kalaycı, and a group of former and current FlyQuest players, secured qualifications for their respective nations as well.

Several seasoned veterans of Counter-Strike contributed to their teams' success during the qualification stage. Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom and his brother Nabil "Nivera" Benrlitom helped Morocco clinch a place, while Joshua "steel" Nissan guided Canada through the qualifiers. Additionally, Dauren "AdreN" Kystaubayev coached Kazakhstan to their successful qualification.

The tournament format will break the 24 teams into four groups for a round-robin stage, consisting of Best-of-One matches, followed by playoffs that will be conducted in Best-of-Three single-elimination style, culminating in a Best-of-Five grand final.

With the stage set for rivalry and competition, the teams are gearing up for what promises to be an exhilarating display of talent at the Esports Nations Cup.
