Aurora defeat M80 to advance in EWC elimination match

Aurora progressed in the Esports World Cup with a 2-0 win against M80. They will face JiJieHao next for a playoff spot.

Aurora has successfully advanced in their Esports World Cup campaign by defeating M80 2-0 in a Group A elimination match, winning on Dust2 and Inferno with identical scores of 13-9.

After an earlier setback against BIG, the newly international roster faced the pressure of mixed results following the additions of Damjan "kyxsan" Stoilkovski and Jimi "Jimpphat" Salo. Team member Ashley "ash" Battye expressed frustration over errors and planning issues that had not surfaced in practice, which he will likely want to address in future matches.

Despite some concerns, Aurora showcased a strong performance, particularly from Ismailcan "XANTARES" Dörtkardeş, who was pivotal during the series. He opened the first map with a 7-3 record in duels, amassing 23 kills, seven multi-kills, and achieving a 1.67 rating overall. Alongside him, Özgür "woxic" Eker contributed with a flawless 5-0 duel record, while Jimpphat also held a positive 4-1 record.

Aurora managed to maintain control after initially leading Dust2 11-5, despite a notable 1v3 clutch by Elias "s1n" Stein, bringing the score closer in the later stages.

On Inferno, XANTARES continued his dominance, recording eight multi-kills, a 24-12 kill-death ratio, and a 1.68 rating. Aurora comfortably reached an 8-4 lead at halftime, and their momentum continued with a successful pistol round and a crucial 1v2 by woxic, which placed them on match point. M80's attempts for a comeback were ultimately halted, securing the victory for Aurora.
