BIG and K27 secure spots in EWC main event

BIG has secured its place in the Esports World Cup main event by eliminating the team Sashi with a 2-1 victory. This win made them the second team to qualify from the open qualifiers. In another match, K27 clinched their main event qualification by overcoming fnatic in a closely contested match. Both teams showcased new players; K27 brought in Timur "clax" Sabirov, while fnatic introduced Volodymyr "mazay" Iorhachov and Artem "cairne" Mushynskyi. Despite a standout 1v3 performance by mazay that earned fnatic a series point, fnatic's core players struggled to make an impact, resulting in below 1.00 ratings across the series.

K27 capitalized on fnatic's weaknesses, featuring strong performances from Aleksey "xeedo" Mikulich and Daniil "qw1nk1" Kabilov, both of whom achieved 90 ADR in the crucial deciding map. This qualification marks K27's entry into only their second significant event, and they aim to use previous experiences, including a challenging last-place finish at PGL Astana, to forge ahead in the main event, seeking to achieve upsets against established teams.
