Esports World Cup Groups Announced Ahead of Main Event

The upcoming Esports World Cup will commence its group stage on August 12, featuring 28 teams along with four that secured their spots through the Last Chance Qualifier.
Organizers revealed the grouping for the prestigious event, which holds a prize pool of $2 million, shortly after determining the final teams in the Last Chance Qualifier.
A total of 32 teams have been divided into four groups consisting of eight teams each, with the seeding based on the July Valve Regional Standings. Notably, two teams from the Last Chance Qualifier-BIG and JiJieHao-will compete in Group A. BIG's superior placement in the standings allowed it to qualify ahead of several directly invited teams.
The group stage will unfold until August 16 and will feature a double-elimination bracket. Opening matches will be held in a best-of-one format, with subsequent matches shifting to best-of-three.
Following the group stage, the top four teams from each group will advance to the single-elimination playoff round, scheduled from August 19 to August 23, culminating in the grand final at the Accor Arena.
