HEROIC continues roster changes as yxngstxr steps down

HEROIC is undergoing significant roster changes, and Simon "yxngstxr" Boije has officially departed from the team's active lineup. This announcement marks a continued effort by the organization to reshape its Counter-Strike team during the off-season.
In addition to yxngstxr stepping down, HEROIC also placed Yasin "xfl0ud" Koç on the bench and appointed Joonas "doto" Forss as their new head coach, effectively replacing Tobias "TOBIZ" Theo. This strategic move comes as the team aims to enhance its performance ahead of upcoming competitions.
Recent rumors indicate that HEROIC is targeting Antonio "MartinezSa" Martinez, a standout AWPer from Gentle Mates, as a potential replacement for yxngstxr. This pursuit suggests the organization's commitment to revitalizing its roster.
yxngstxr joined HEROIC in early 2025, becoming a key part of the team after transferring as a member of Sangal's core. Notably, he faced a temporary benching in early 2026 when Tim "susp" Ångström was integrated into the lineup. However, yxngstxr returned to serve as the team's AWP player when visa issues sidelined teammate Alimzhan "Alkaren" Bitimbay.
In a heartfelt message released on X, HEROIC expressed gratitude to yxngstxr for his adaptability and contributions: "We are grateful for the selflessness you showed in the previous season, completely switching roles when we needed help in a difficult situation. The 'hobby AWPer' that took down Major winners and MVPs."
As it currently stands, HEROIC's active roster includes Linus "nilo" Bergman, Tim "susp" Ångström, and Christoffer "Chr1zN" Storgaard, along with coach Joonas "doto" Forss. Yasin "xfl0ud" Koç, Alimzhan "Alkaren" Bitimbay, and Simon "yxngstxr" Boije remain on the bench, signaling further adjustments could lie ahead for the team.
