Jee discusses bootcamp plans as TYLOO exits XSE Pro League

Dongkai "Jee" Ji, a player for TYLOO, expressed some challenges his team faced during their elimination from the XSE Pro League in Guangzhou. After a quarter-finals loss to 9z, a team they had previously struggled against, Jee noted that skipping a European bootcamp before the Major negatively impacted their performance in Cologne.
In a three-map series, the Latin American team 9z once again proved dominant, forcing TYLOO out of the tournament. Jee, who already has aspirations for the next Major cycle, stated the team’s immediate goal is to reach the playoffs. He admitted, "Winning the Major might be a bit far for us right now, but reaching the playoffs is the current goal."
Reflecting on the recent match, Jee explained that while they started strong on their CT side of Nuke, mistakes ultimately led to their undoing. He cited that 9z's knowledge of their setups compounded their difficulties. Despite a better performance on the second map, they faltered significantly on the third, securing only four rounds on their CT side.
Jee addressed the importance of their home crowd, remarking on the enthusiastic support from fans. He highlighted how crucial it was for TYLOO to perform well in China, a nation where they hold significant popularity and pride as one of the country’s leading CS teams.
"As a Chinese club, we get so much support from our fans. Even though Chinese teams aren't at the level of European ones, we still get a lot of attention and support here," Jee noted, underlining the emotional connection between the team and their audience.
Despite their quarter-final exit, Jee regarded the path of progress they have made since the last Major, where they finished 0-3. He emphasized the responsibility of improving with each tournament, driven by the ambition to break into the playoffs at the next competition.
Looking ahead, Jee confirmed plans for a bootcamp in Europe ahead of the Esports World Cup, emphasizing its importance for improving TYLOO's competitive edge. "Before the Major in Cologne, we didn't do a bootcamp in Europe, so it was actually a bit surprising we still made it to Stage 2," he revealed. The team's ultimate aim is to push further towards Stage 3 of the Major cycle.
TYLOO's next steps involve serious training and preparation, as the team strives for greater achievements in upcoming events, fueled by their high ambitions.
