Johnny Speeds bench friberg, nawwk and Lekr0 amid roster overhaul

Johnny Speeds has initiated a complete overhaul of its roster, announcing the benching of Tim "nawwk" Jonasson, Jonas "Lekr0" Olofsson, and head coach Adam "friberg" Friberg. Following the recent exit of Anton "Sapec" Palmgren, the team now consists of only two remaining players.

In their official statement, Johnny Speeds expressed their gratitude towards the outgoing players, stating, "There is only love for the boys. We fought hard and gave it everything, but the results haven't been there."

This decision comes in the wake of a tumultuous season for Johnny Speeds, marked by a mix of impressive performances and troubling inconsistencies. After integrating nawwk into the lineup in late February, the squad found early success, claiming third place at the Parken Challenger Championship Season 2 and clinching victory in the NODWIN Clutch Series 6.

Despite these milestone achievements, the team's ability to maintain form fluctuated significantly throughout the season. Although they secured a commendable second place in the ECL Season 51 Cup 3, disappointing results-including a last-place finish at Tipsport Conquest of Prague and an early exit from the NODWIN Clutch Series 8-plagued their overall campaign.

Ultimately, the inconsistency kept Johnny Speeds from making significant strides in the global VRS rankings, concluding the season at 80th overall, heavily impacted by their performance at the Svenska CS-Ligan 2026 Finals.

Currently, Johnny Speeds is left with only two players: Ludvig "HEAP" Alonso and Jacob "jocab" Nerheden.
