MOUZ delivers strong debut victory in BLAST Bounty Season 2

The highly anticipated BLAST Bounty Season 2 has officially kicked off, reintroducing the elite teams of Counter-Strike after the summer break.

The tournament features a unique format allowing lower-ranked teams to select their opponents, setting the stage for a mix of competitive bouts alongside dominant games in favor of the top teams. On the opening day, the favorites came out largely on top.

MOUZ and Astralis showcased their class as anticipated frontrunners, while Ninjas in Pyjamas secured a crucial victory in a balanced contest against M80. On the contrary, Wildcard delivered the sole upset of the day by decisively defeating Alliance.

Despite recent struggles since returning to action in July, Ninjas in Pyjamas started their campaign in the Bounty with a comfortable 2-0 win against M80. Martin "stavn" Lund was instrumental in this matchup, leading the way for his team with impressive performance on Inferno, complemented by Kacper "xKacpersky" Gabara’s strong display on Ancient.

Astralis faced early challenges against Nemesis, needing to recover after dropping the first map on Nuke. However, they managed to regroup and claim victory with solid performances on Ancient and Cache, thanks to standout plays from Jakob "jabbi" Nygaard and Love "phzy" Smidebrant.

MOUZ experienced a straightforward start against Nuclear TigeRES, winning 2-0 despite facing some difficulties on Nuke. A pivotal moment arrived when Lotan "Spinx" Giladi delivered an impressive Deagle round that propelled MOUZ back into contention, allowing them to secure their match convincingly.

The day's lone upset occurred as Wildcard decisively defeated Alliance. Coming off a strong finish at the XSE Pro League Guangzhou, Alliance was expected to advance but found themselves not only challenged but outmatched. Wildcard opener effectively crushed Alliance on Inferno and controlled the game on Dust2, despite an ace performance from Jonatan "bobeksde" Persson.

Looking ahead, the action continues tomorrow in BLAST Bounty with an exciting slate of matches, highlighted by a clash between Major champions Falcons and 100 Thieves, where Finn "karrigan" Andersen will face off against his former teammate Håvard "rain" Nygaard.
