MOUZ's xertioN Reflects on Mental Shift After Roster Changes

Dorian "xertioN" Berman, rifler for MOUZ, recently shared insights into the team’s shifting dynamics after introducing two new players, 18-year-olds Adrian "xelex" Vincze and Oldřich "PR" Nový, this offseason. With their first significant test on the horizon at BLAST Bounty 2026 S2, the team is focused on adjusting their expectations in order to return to title contention.

Following their successful qualification for the LAN Finals, where they defeated 3DMAX in the quarter-finals, xertioN noted the need for further improvement. He expressed dissatisfaction with their performance on the first two maps of the match, stating that they fell short of their usual practice level. In his own words: "I think our performance on the first two maps especially was pretty poor, much lower than the level we usually play at in practice."

XertioN emphasized the importance of winning while not playing at their best, mentioning the need for mental resilience in tough situations. He highlighted individual plays and clutches from his teammates, indicating a positive side to their performance despite the overall need for improvement.

Regarding the experience against 3DMAX, xertioN acknowledged their preparation and strategic advantage but pointed out their own mental lapses during critical rounds. He expressed a clear need to reflect on these setbacks to move forward efficiently.

As the in-game leader since late last year, xertioN remarked on the added responsibilities, saying, "The change has been mostly mental, needing to actually be a leader, to be there for the guys even when we're not playing well." He recognizes the challenges that come with guiding younger teammates, yet believes that this transition will ultimately benefit the team's long-term goals.

The current MOUZ roster aims to recalibrate their ambitions for future competitions. XertioN stated that they are taking a step back in hopes of setting themselves up for a stronger two steps forward. He is optimistic about the contributions from xelex and PR, noting their hard work and potential.

As the squad advances to the semi-finals, xertioN reflected on the matchup possibilities and assured that they are maintaining focus on continual improvement without unnecessary pressure. He concluded by reaffirming their commitment to grow and develop, no matter the challenges ahead.
