PGL Masters Bucharest Invites Revealed: Falcons Decline

PGL has revealed the teams invited to participate in the PGL Masters Bucharest, a $1,250,000 competition set to take place from October 24-31 in Romania. The tournament will conclude just ahead of the VRS invite cut-off for the PGL Singapore Major scheduled for November 2.

In a notable move, Falcons are the only top-tier team based on the July 6 VRS to decline their invitation. This decision enabled The MongolZ, previously ranked 13th, to claim the last available spot in the lineup.

The event boasts an impressive roster of teams, including renowned organizations like Spirit, Vitality, Natus Vincere, FURIA, G2, and the defending champions Aurora. Aurora will be looking to retain their title with an altered squad following off-season roster changes.

BetBoom and 9z also received invites after strong quarter-final performances at the IEM Cologne Major. Last year’s finalists, Legacy, aim for redemption with a modified roster, now featuring Santino "try" Rigal in place of Guilherme "saadzin" Pacheco.

The tournament will see four additional teams, determined through regional qualifiers across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, joining the competition. These qualifiers are scheduled for the second week of September. PGL Masters Bucharest will utilize a Swiss group stage format leading to playoff rounds, culminating in a best-of-five grand final.
