GamerLegionOldřich 'PR' Nový reflects on returning to MOUZ and the challenges of new in-game roles after joining from GamerLegion.
Oldřich 'PR' Nový has rejoined MOUZ, 18 months after leaving their academy team to play for GamerLegion. As he adjusts to his new role, PR shared that his previous connections with team members ease his transition into the squad.
Speaking about the familiarity with some players, PR noted, "It's definitely easier to come into this team than if I would go to another one, because I already have some connections." This is particularly pertinent as he finds himself adjusting to more passive roles on the CT side, a significant change from his time at GamerLegion.
PR expressed that he is "fighting" with this new approach, feeling at times that he is not contributing enough. "I sometimes feel like I could do something, like I'm not maybe helping enough," he stated, acknowledging the learning curve ahead of him.
Regarding his previous experience with GamerLegion, PR feels better prepared for the challenges of a top-tier team. He said, "the year and a half in GamerLegion gave me a lot," contrasting it with his earlier academy experience where he lacked LAN exposure, a gap he feels is now bridged.
As he settles back into the MOUZ environment, PR highlighted the adjustment to various in-game roles as the main challenge he faces, particularly in learning to play positions that he is less familiar with. He described this process as a gradual journey towards comfort and competence in his new role.
On the recent addition of Cache to the map pool, PR noted that he has never played the map at a competitive level but finds enjoyment in it. While his team might lack extensive experience on Cache, he feels a collective learning process is underway, offering a sense of shared growth among teammates.
Looking ahead to the team's performance in upcoming matches, PR emphasized the absence of pressure. He stated, “we have no expectations, no goals. We just play, we take it step by step, we just think about our next game.” This mindset could prove beneficial as MOUZ navigates the early stages of their campaign.
