TaZ Reflects on BC.Game's Esports World Cup Exit Against 100 Thieves
BC.Game's Wiktor 'TaZ' Wojtas spoke about the team's narrow loss to 100 Thieves and their growth throughout the year.
Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas expressed his thoughts on BC.Game's recent exit from the Esports World Cup after a close match against 100 Thieves. The team narrowly missed out on victory in two maps, culminating in a heartbreaking 11-13 defeat on Anubis, where a pivotal Jack "Gizmy" von Spreckelsen 1v3 play shifted the momentum against them.
In an interview with HLTV, TaZ emphasized the small margins that define matches in Counter-Strike: "CS is a game of small margins. Some rounds you lose an advantage, some you win in a disadvantage, so we can't really talk much about it, we just need to go back and get better."
Despite the loss, TaZ was proud of his team's efforts and highlighted the significant change in mental resilience compared to earlier in the year. "I'm proud of the guys that they were fighting until the end. This is not something we were known for at the beginning of the year, and that's definitely a huge change," he stated.
As BC.Game transitions under new leadership with Emil "Magisk" Reif as their in-game leader and the inclusion of Ayush "mzinho" Batbold and Azbayar "Senzu" Munkhbold, TaZ acknowledged some ongoing challenges. "There will be things we will miss, and this is something we tried to remind the whole team. We won't be perfect, we will be missing utility, we will be forgetting tactics, which happened," he commented.
TaZ is optimistic about the future, noting that with time and practice, the team will improve, especially in critical situations. He reflected on their second LAN appearance together and the potential for growth moving forward. He also noted the adjustment period for new players, mentioning the varying playstyles within the squad: "We need to remember Sasha and Denis are coming from a different sort of CS, and also mzinho and Senzu are coming from a different one, so it's connecting freestyle with a very heavy-set game where there is not much space for creativity, and then you have guys who are full creativity. We will just work on it and get better."
