In a dominant display, 9z swept PARIVISION 3-0 to win the XSE Pro League Guangzhou trophy, marking their first significant international LAN achievement. The victory also rewards them with a substantial portion of the $1,000,000 prize pool.
This win comes on the heels of a strong performance by 9z, who previously reached the playoffs at the PGL Astana in May, defeating both Falcons and MOUZ. They also achieved their best-ever finish at a Major by making it to the playoff stage of the IEM Cologne Major.
Despite a rocky start in the group stage in China, where they suffered losses to EYEBALLERS and Alliance, 9z progressively improved each game, culminating in a convincing win in the grand final.
For PARIVISION, this tournament marked the debut of their new lineup, and while they made it to the final, they were outmatched by 9z. The team’s new member Abay "HObbit" Khassenov struggled, as did the typically reliable Dzhami "Jame" Ali, who was also unable to find his rhythm.
In the opening match on Mirage, PARIVISION found themselves trailing 2-6 on the T side, facing challenges in executing bomb plants. They attempted a comeback towards the end of the first half, but Luciano "luchov" Herrera stepped up in the second half to guide his team to an early lead.
Inferno featured another tough start for PARIVISION, who lost a quick force-buy battle at the beginning of their defensive half. Heavy pressure on the B bombsite led to early losses, although they secured a few rounds towards the end of their CT side. But even with a momentum shift early in their T side, they struggled to maintain consistency, and crucial play from Matias "HUASOPEEK" Ibañez Hernandez and dgt ensured 9z extended their lead to 2-0.
The final map, Dust2, was largely controlled by 9z, thanks in part to the resurgence of Ignacio "meyern" Meyer. After a quiet performance earlier in the series, he found his footing, delivering multiple kills that propelled 9z to a comfortable 3-0 victory and their first international LAN trophy.
