MOUZ Edge Past 3DMAX to Reach BLAST Bounty Semi-Finals
MOUZ overcame a challenging series against 3DMAX to secure a spot in the semi-finals of the BLAST Bounty Season 2 Finals, recovering after initial struggles on Dust2 and Nuke.
MOUZ have successfully advanced to the semi-finals of the BLAST Bounty Season 2 Finals following a tricky match against 3DMAX, which featured a remarkable turnaround after initial difficulties on the first two maps. The series began with a hard-fought loss on Dust2, followed by a tight triple overtime win on Nuke, before MOUZ dominated Inferno, closing the match 13-3.
In a post-match interview, Dorian "xertioN" Berman reflected on the team’s mental challenges during the series. He acknowledged that MOUZ did not perform at their usual level initially, struggling especially on the first two maps. Their performance included several lost advantages and near misses, which nearly cost them the series. The pivotal moment on Dust2 came when 3DMAX executed an effective game plan targeting MOUZ's newcomer, Oldřich "PR" Nový, resulting in an early 4-0 lead for the French side. Despite an attempt to bounce back from MOUZ, 3DMAX maintained their pressure and secured a 13-10 victory.
Nuke brought its own set of challenges, featuring an intricate back-and-forth battle that saw MOUZ force overtime after being pushed to the brink. Notably, Ádám "torzsi" Torzsás starred with clutch plays, including a crucial recovery in the final rounds. However, the first and second maps had seen MOUZ struggle, yielding opportunities to 3DMAX, who capitalized on MOUZ's mistakes.
Inferno marked a decisive shift in momentum. MOUZ delivered a much-improved performance, characterized by strong strategic calls from xertioN and effective gameplay from notables like Lotan "Spinx" Giladi and PR. The result was a lopsided score of 13-3, securing their spot in the semi-finals without further incident.
