Spirit punches ticket to Bounty LAN Finals with 13-0 win against 100T

Spirit secured a spot in the BLAST Bounty Season 2 Finals by delivering a resounding performance against 100 Thieves, culminating in a decisive 13-0 victory on Dust2. This win marks Spirit as the eighth and final team to qualify for the event.

The series began on Anubis, where Spirit faced an initial setback, trailing 10-6. However, they managed a comeback to win 13-11, thanks to solid defensive plays. In contrast, their offense struggled on Mirage, where William "sirah" Kjærsgaard led 100T to a commanding 10-2 advantage before sealing a 13-4 victory. Spirit’s loss on Mirage ended an impressive eight-map winning streak on that map, a setback described by Boris "magixx" Vorobiev as a "slap in the face" that sharpened their focus heading into the decider.

The pivotal match on Dust2 was dominated by Danil "donk" Kryshkovets, who started with an impressive 1v3 and quickly escalated to a remarkable 16-4 scoreline by the seventh round, ultimately finishing the match with a career-best 2.84 rating. His performance echoed his previous dominance during Stage 2 of the Major, further asserting Spirit’s control without significant resistance from 100T. Having won the Bounty tournament twice before, Spirit is now seen as the team to beat, with anything less than a third title viewed as a failure.

Following the match, magixx commented on the difficulty of competing against teams outside the top rankings: "When you’re playing T1, everyone plays the same CS, you get used to it. Against Top 40 or lower, they have their own fresh ideas ... if you are against one scenario you expect, you get owned by a different one." He acknowledged that the outcome of tournaments often hinges on Spirit's own performance.

Despite the loss, 100 Thieves showed promise under new coach Jack "Gizmy" von Spreckelsen, having recently taken down the Falcons. Magixx noted that the team's style has evolved since Gizmy took over, creating challenges for their opponents and highlighting the need for consistent top-tier play to avoid being caught off guard.
