The MongolZ, FaZe among invites to FPG 3

FISSURE Playground 3 is set to feature top teams, including FaZe and The MongolZ, as it gains traction after previous cancellations.

FISSURE's upcoming tournament, Playground 3, has secured participation from several prominent teams, including The MongolZ and FaZe, who accepted their invitations. The event, which boasts a prize pool of $1,000,000, will take place in Suzhou, after originally being planned for Shenzhen and initially named FPG 5. The renaming occurred following the cancellation of both the third and fourth editions, which were attributed to logistical challenges.

The tournament organizer announced the eight confirmed teams on Bilibili, a Chinese social media platform. Among these teams, five are ranked within the top 15 according to the latest HLTV rankings, marking a significant achievement for FISSURE following issues with previous events and financial difficulties.

Playground 3 is scheduled to commence shortly after the conclusion of the BLAST Open Porto, with the start date set for September 8. Notably, invitees Legacy and BetBoom will be competing in Porto, giving them only one day to travel to China if they reach the finals. The other top teams joining Suzhou include PARIVISION and The MongolZ, both of whom did not receive invites to the Porto event. Additionally, Alliance and TYLOO round out the initial eight invitees.

With eight more spots still available, FISSURE plans to fill these through the Asia Closed Qualifier and further invitations. The current lineup of teams is anticipated to represent a highly competitive tournament atmosphere as it moves forward, taking into account the recent setbacks the organizers faced.
