Twistzz reflects on FaZe's leadership and Neityu's future

In recent comments, Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken has addressed his future as the in-game leader (IGL) of FaZe, alongside the situation regarding Ryan "Neityu" Aubry, who joined the team as a stand-in nearly three months ago. Following the summer's addition of Jason "JBOEN" Boe Nielsen, FaZe's fortunes appear to be on the rise after reaching the semi-finals of XSE Pro League and securing two victories in the online segment of BLAST Bounty, propelling them to the upcoming Malta finals.
However, there remains uncertainty about the lineup's future, particularly surrounding Neityu's position and Twistzz's leadership role. During a media event prior to the Bounty finals, Twistzz expressed that the matter is ultimately up to FaZe's management. "No matter what role I'm playing, I'm going to have a long-term image of it," he stated, emphasizing his commitment to the team until the organization communicates any changes. "I will give everything I have to the team, and also become the best leader that I can be."
On the subject of Neityu, Twistzz noted, "That's for FaZe to figure out. I'm sure they're working out some contract, or there's something going on between the org and his agency. But at the moment he is here. We love playing with Ryan [Neityu], and we just look forward to continuing."
Reflecting on FaZe’s recent progress, he mentioned the importance of making playoffs, stating, "We're two for two for playoffs this season so far," while acknowledging the challenges and surprises faced in the online stage.
Twistzz also highlighted the team's adaptation to the reintroduced map, Cache, indicating their substantial preparation and effort dedicated to mastering it. He admitted disappointment when Overpass was removed but noted that their focused practice on Cache has shown promising results. With several players involved in strategizing on the map, he underlined that maintaining their leading position would require ongoing dedication and adaptation.
As for working with the newly appointed coach, Niclas "enkay J" Krumhorn, and the rookie JBOEN, Twistzz remarked on the productive collaboration and shared vision within the squad, emphasizing the growth and communication that has taken place, even amidst limited practice time.
