14 Jul 2026

BLAST will host its second Open tournament in 2027 in Ulaanbaatar, featuring a $1.25 million prize pool.

The city of Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia is poised to host its first-ever tier-one esports event, as BLAST recently confirmed that the second Open tournament of 2027 will take place there. Scheduled from May 10 to 23, the tournament will offer a prize pool of $1.25 million.

A total of 16 teams will participate, with 11 secured through direct invitations based on the Valve Regional Standings. The remaining five teams will qualify from regions across Asia, Europe, North America, and South America.

This event will represent BLAST's inaugural tier-one event in Mongolia, although the organization had previously co-hosted a qualifying event for the BLAST Open London in 2025. The decision to expand into Mongolia aligns with BLAST's broader strategy for 2027, aiming to diversify its event locations beyond traditional markets. Earlier announcements revealed plans for events in Rio de Janeiro, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Malta.

The lineup for BLAST's 2027 circuit has been detailed as follows:

- BLAST Bounty Season 1: January 11-24 - BLAST Open Singapore: March 15-28 - BLAST Open Ulaanbaatar: May 10-23 - BLAST Bounty Season 2: August 30-September 12 - BLAST Open Rio: October 4-17 - BLAST Rivals: November 8-14
