GamerLegion advance to EWC playoffs by beating JiJieHao

GamerLegion secured their spot in the Esports World Cup playoffs after a decisive 2-0 victory against JiJieHao.

GamerLegion have become the first team to qualify for the playoffs of the Esports World Cup after a commanding 2-0 win against JiJieHao, with match scores of 13-3 and 13-8.

The Asian squad, which had previously achieved an impressive victory over Spirit, struggled to replicate that form against GamerLegion. Initially facing a setback at Bounty where they were eliminated in the first round by HOTU, GamerLegion has since bounced back, showcasing a dominant performance with an impressive 74% round win rate in their first two matches of the tournament.

Timur "FL4MUS" Marev made a significant impact in the series, expressing his relief at being part of a stable team after his challenging time with Virtus.pro and brief spells with OG and BetBoom. His performance on Dust2 was particularly noteworthy as he achieved a remarkable 2.33 rating, setting an electrifying pace with a 4k using Dualies in the pistol round and clinching the first map with a clutch kill after a stellar M4A4 spraydown.

On Ancient, GamerLegion continued their momentum, although JiJieHao managed to secure a few rounds later in the match. Sebastian "Tauson" Tauson Lindelof shone brightly for JiJieHao despite the loss, notably delivering a stunning 3k entry on map two and finishing the day with a commendable 1.80 rating after his earlier impressive one-tap on Dust2.

Having secured their playoff berth, GamerLegion heads into the next stages with heightened confidence, whereas JiJieHao is left reflecting on a performance that contrasted sharply with their previous success against the VRS #1 team.
