maaRaa will miss Bounty Finals and EWC with The MongolZ
The MongolZ face significant challenges as coach maaRaa will be absent from upcoming tournaments due to personal reasons.
The MongolZ will compete without their coach Erdenedalai "maaRaa" Bayanbat for the upcoming BLAST Bounty Finals and the Esports World Cup, the organization has confirmed.
Despite not being physically present, maaRaa will stay in touch with the team to offer guidance and support from a distance. This is not the first time the 36-year-old coach has been absent; earlier this year, he missed the Pro League playoffs and the BLAST Open Rotterdam, where his team was eliminated in the quarter-finals on both occasions.
This news comes as a setback for The MongolZ, who had made a strong impression in their debut season with newcomers Zolbayar "tikuak" Chimedtseren and Dugarsuren "DarkMeister" Ireedui, qualifying for the Bounty playoffs. The task of defending their EWC title from 2025 will now be even more challenging without maaRaa, who earned recognition as the second-best coach last year in a vote among his peers.
