New IEM Cologne Major stickers launched with revised pricing
Valve introduces a new series of IEM Cologne Major stickers with lowered prices after feedback on the previous system.
Valve has rolled out an update for Counter-Strike featuring a fresh set of IEM Cologne Major stickers, modified to incorporate a square design that indicates each team's final position in the tournament.
In its announcement, Valve acknowledged that the previous dynamic pricing model led to exorbitant costs, which the company admitted "didn't produce reasonable prices." This previous approach caused the prices of the most coveted items to inflated significantly, with some soaring over 150,000 tokens, equating to around $1,500 in the game shop.
With the revamped pricing system, the top-tier stickers are now set at 6,000 tokens or approximately $60. This move comes amid a report from HLTV highlighting disappointing sales for Cologne Major stickers, which in some cases fell to as low as 20% of team earnings compared to those from the StarLadder Budapest Major.
Valve's adjustments aim to better accommodate both players and fans, with the new sticker series available for purchase until September 29.
