In an unexpected turn of events, Aleksandr "shalfey" Marenov will step in for Timur "clax" Sabirov as K27 prepares for the Stake Ranked Episode 3 tournament next week. This change follows K27's struggle to secure a visa for clax in time for the competition, which is set to take place from July 15-18 in Barcelona, Spain.
The decision comes only a week after clax joined the team, replacing Petr "fame" Bolyshev upon the end of the latter's loan from Virtus.pro. Ivan Kondratov, K27's CEO, revealed on Telegram that this transition did not allow sufficient time to arrange for clax's visa, forcing the organization to look for a temporary replacement.
"Since clax is new to our team and there was no chance of getting a visa for Stake Ranked, we'll be forced to play with a replacement," Kondratov stated. He emphasized the importance of finding a player with experience and the necessary documentation for competing in European LAN events.
K27's first match in the tournament will be against Ninjas in Pyjamas, as they are scheduled to compete in the upper bracket quarter-finals on Wednesday at 12:00. The roster for K27 at the Stake Ranked tournament includes:
