fnatic confirms signing of Volodymyr "mazay" Iorhachov

fnatic has announced the signing of 17-year-old rifler Volodymyr "mazay" Iorhachov from Spirit Academy. This move comes as mazay transitions to a more competitive team after notable performances in the academy scene.

Mazay steps into the lineup to fill the spot previously held by Viktor "Br4tkO" Kondratets, who has been moved to the bench. Br4tkO, who was signed from Lazer Cats in March, recorded a 0.97 rating during his tenure with fnatic.

The young Ukrainian first joined Spirit Academy in the summer of 2025 as a replacement for Maksim "kyousuke" Lukin. However, his time was short-lived as he had to leave due to academic commitments while studying in Germany. Despite this setback, others in the organization recognized his potential, with Dmitry "S0tF1k" Forostyanko calling mazay the future of Spirit Academy and expressing optimism about his return when conditions allowed. He eventually re-joined Spirit Academy in February 2026 after a significant roster change.

Mazay becomes the second addition to fnatic's roster during the off-season, following the earlier signing of Artem "cairne" Mushynskyi from Ninjas in Pyjamas. The inclusion of both players is expected to strengthen a fnatic lineup that was ranked 50th in Europe according to the invite cutoff for the Cologne Major, nearly 300 Valve points away from qualifying.
