Love "phzy" Smidebrant, the Swedish AWPer for Astralis, expressed a sense of optimism as he looks to regain his form following a difficult phase in performance. The arrival of new teammates Gytis "ryu" Glušauskas and phzy marked promising beginnings for Astralis this year, but both players faced challenges as the season progressed, particularly seen during the Cologne Major.

Phzy recorded a solid 1.27 rating in the critical match against paiN in the quarter-finals of BLAST Bounty S2, but reflected on the impact of fluctuations in his confidence due to critical feedback. "I like hearing when I make mistakes or stuff like this, that's the way you improve, right? So I think that's fine, but yeah, maybe it's been a bit much," he remarked, acknowledging a potential shift towards a more passive playstyle.

In discussing the team dynamic, he noted that maintaining a positive mentality has been a focus during the off-season, especially following incidents in TeamSpeak where team frustration was evident. He stated, "It's something we're trying to work on, but also striving for more consistency... we had good ups and low downs. I guess those kind of go hand-in-hand a little bit."

Phzy also addressed variations in his map performance, particularly his struggles on Nuke compared to his strength on Inferno. Recognizing this disparity, he mentioned ongoing efforts to improve under the guidance of their analyst MiGHTYMAX. He elaborated on the challenges he faces on Nuke, given the less dynamic role for AWPs on the Terrorist side.

His reflections extended to the integration of new coach NEO, who he described as a positive influence, contributing new strategies, particularly on Cache, a map that hasn't been in rotation recently. Phzy stated, "He's come with a lot of positivity, a lot of good vibes so far... contributing with strats."

Looking ahead to the upcoming match, phzy indicated a preference for competing against Spirit over MOUZ, citing how Spirit's playstyle suits his approach as an AWPer. However, he acknowledged the scheduling challenges that would accompany a game against Spirit.
