FOKUS defeats Aurora in a decisive match, eliminating them from BLAST Bounty.
FOKUS has handed Aurora their first defeat as an international team in the opening round of the online phase of the BLAST Bounty 2026 Season 2. They secured the series with a convincing 13-4 win on Dust2 after previously splitting Cache 13-11 and Nuke 7-13.
This match marks the end of Aurora's hopes to compete in their first LAN event together in Malta, following recent successes against K27 and Nemesis in the StarLadder StarSeries Fall 2026 Europe Closed Qualifier.
In contrast, FOKUS, which had started their StarLadder journey with a 1-2 loss to Astralis, achieved their first win with contributions from Paavo "podi" Heiskanen and Jacob "jocab" Nerheden, allowing them to advance further in the bracket.
The series commenced on Cache, the latest addition to the Active Duty pool, where Aurora began strongly with a 5-0 lead on the CT side. However, FOKUS responded with six consecutive rounds to finish the half 8-7 down. jocab delivered a crucial performance, securing three kills to help tie the score at 9-9. With the score tied at 11-11, jocab scored key eliminations against Ismailcan "XANTARES" Dörtkardeş and Özgür "woxic" Eker, allowing his team to secure the map with a final score of 13-11.
Nuke saw the Turkish players XANTARES and Ali "Wicadia" Haydar Yalçın shine, as they led their team to a dominant 13-7 win, reversing the momentum in their favor and enabling them to push to the decider.
Dust2 proved to be challenging for Aurora, with FOKUS racing to a 7-0 lead, including a remarkable smoke defuse by podi in a 1v2 situation. With a commanding first-half score of 10-2, FOKUS maintained control, and despite Aurora managing to score two rounds after halftime, the match concluded shortly after with a final score of 13-4, confirming FOKUS's advancement in the tournament.
